A HAPPY FAMILY IS A STRONG FAMILY  In our society today with the decline of the “Normal Family”, today’s family is composed of

1. Single parents:  widowed, divorced and or never married.

2. Step families or blended families:  as the result of many divorces and remarriages.
3. Empty nest families: never married or when all of the children have left home.
4. Re-attached families: where the children have left home and are now back.

Every aspect of Church life interacts with family issues or dynamics of some sort. The 31st Street Seventh Day Adventist Church family ministry department goals are to work with all families, large, small, single parent’s families or individual families.

Some of the issues we will be dealing with 2006 and 2007 are:

Divorce
Child abuse and Spousal abuse
Unwed pregnancy
Domestic violence
Homosexuality

One area that is always overlooked is our Seniors Citizen who is and has always been the backbone of the church. It is our goal to plan programs and outings and provide a venue so they will can be served and heard.

The family circle is indeed a vital place where God can be revealed. To God be the Glory Great things He has and will continue to do.  We welcome any suggestion you may have.
